The
enchantment of the Middle Ages still envelops Hall in Tyrol.
Like a toy, the tiny city with its many towers and gables
lies cradled at the foot of the Big Bettelwurf mountain, 8
km east of the state capital, Innsbruck.
This old coin-minting city, with its historic town centre,
marked in large part still by the styles of the High Middle
Ages, numbers without doubt among the most beautiful towns
in Austria.
The national mint, Inn river traffic, the "white gold", salt,
all led to cultural highpoints in far distant times. |

From
the Mint Tower, the very first "Hall Thaler" was issued and
gained world renown. In the Mining Museum one can experience
in graphically real ways the atmosphere of the old salt mines.
Through first-rate concerts, regular castle plays,
interesting exhibitions and sophisticated cultural events,
the little city proves its true greatness.
